As many of you know I have made it to Koh Phangan and it really is a nice place. I have been staying at a really nice place for the past few days. Doing well, nothing really. And it has been nice for these past few days, but now I am getting bored so I looks like a well be heading out maybe tomorrow to o do some rock climbing on an other island.
Right now I am staying at Haad Son bungalows. Its a really cheap place to stay and the food is great. But there are a few thing that are starting to bug me. It seems that the place is a very fond place to go for french and french canadians. How I can tell this is all the guys here walk arund in speedo and all the women walk aroudn the beach topless. Now The topless part I can live with, but yoiu can only see so many speedos before you start to fell sick =) OH, an other interesting story happended to me a few days ago here. It was about 3 in the afternoon and I was sitting in my hammock reading my book when one of these french canadians walks buy. So we chat for a bit and then he leaves for the pool. I tihnk notihgn of it and go on with the rest of my day. Well around 11pm that night the guy comes knocking on the door of my bungalow. YOu see I was already alseep.(the night before a was traveling here so I was really tired) And he wanted me to go swiming with himn own my the beach. The water was marvelouse he said. Needless to say I was not leaving my room. For about 5 minutes he kept trying to get me do to the beach, but finally he givces up and leaves. The next day I am alk to this lady from holdand and she aid that she aw to of the other french men in this tour getting rally freindly with each other in the pool. I sure am getting to experiance alot of things on this tyrip.
Well i think that is is safe to safe that Bangkok is my least favoraite city. I really cant wait to leave this town. It is impossible to get away from the taffic noise, and you should try crossingh the road here. I have never be so scared crossing the road. As far as I can tell all of the pedestrian lights are burnt out, but that does not matr much because most of the driver dont use fallow the lights.
Its noisy smelly dangerouse, the poeple are really agressive in everything. I cant wait to go to Kho pan ngag It is going to be a real treat
Ok so I have caught up on my sleep (14 hours btw) and I was ready to take a walk around Thailand. It was going fine. I was getting my barings and learning the layout of the town. So as I am walking around the town this one guy stop s my a say "NIce sandles. Where did you buy them?" So I repley Canada. Guess what, his sister just happen to be goin to Canada in Febuary. So he want me to meet her aqt that spot at 12:00 noon. I being to true patriot, taking any chance to brag about Canada agreed. But that was 2 hours away so still had some time to kill.
Walking down teh street it starts to rain and I duck into a Dunken donuts to weather the rain. You know what happens next. This lady stop s me to ask the time and then where I am from. She informs me that her niece is going to toronto the january to take university, and that she would like to know more about Canada. Well you tru patriot jumps at the chance. We sit and talk about stuff and then she invites me to her house to meet her family and have some free food.
After a 15 intue taxi ride we arrive at her very nice house. I eat a really nice "free" thai lunch. I really was great. One was some sort of deep fried fish while the other (I am sure to Ian's likeing) a fish stuff with some other type of fish, and to top if off Candyed almonds for desert.
Everthing is going great up untill the husband get home. He is a really nice guy a we talk for a bit and tells me that he is a dealer for cosinos. So we talk about gambling and then he tells me that he can show me how we can scam the casino. Even slipt 40% me 40% him and 20% to the guys that look the other way on the sicurity cameras. I am sitting that taking al this in noing that I am not going to go into a casino and do it with him. But it does not know how to count cards.
This goes on for some time and then this other guy that comes and so my teacher says that we should scam this guy (because he has lots of money) and it will be good practices for me. He gives me 200 dallor to play with am we start. I am reading his signals great and every thing is going fine. Untill the other guy start to rais the bet over the money that I have and i have to start using my own money.
I have 21 and the other guy has raised the bet 20 dollars over what I have. I put that money in and win the pot. We play some more and on the next hand i would have to put in 120 dollars of mine. So now alarms are going off in my head. Well they had been going for a long time I just finally chose to listen to them. I tell them that I am going to fold and pull out. After some high presure talk about how much money I have they agree to quit. What happens is that since it was a "freindly" game we both get are money back. All of it. So I got my 20 dollars back and the 200 of my teachers. Now I think that is was a scam but I really am not sure.
In sort I sure am learning alot on this trip, and never play me in black jack now. I can count the cards.
I finally got in to Thailand. After to many hours of fly and not nearly enough sleep. I am here. What do I think about it, well I will tell you tomorrow. I am having a shower and then going to bed.
Well I had a 4 month brake since I got back from Japan and now I am off again. This time is will be tackling Thailand Korea and Australia just to name a few. So come on and take a took.
Art School, what the hell was I thinking. Wait I know, it's university not job training. I am here to learn, to increase my understanding of the world, to better my bullshit. Keep coming back and see if I get any better.
